[edit] Precog Music / Antoine Schmitt [paris] / Audiovisual Performance / 30 min. / Open Graphics Studio

Antoine Schmitt has developed, during the past ten years, an original artistic langage through the creation of semi-autonomous, sensitive, interactive or generative shapes placed in a delicate or fragile situation. In minimal or monumental installations, he thus questions contemporary or intemporal themes like the human and its condition of being, reality and its consistency, control and its complexities, forces and their forms. He places programming, a medium that he considers radically new because of its active dimension, at the core of all his artworks. Also, Antoine Schmitt, alone or through collaborations, has undertaken a confrontation of this langage with more established artistic fields like music, dance, architecture, litterature or cinema, of which he thus revisits the codes. His work has been awarded prizes in numerous international festivals.

[edit] Catatonic State Society / Isjtar (Junior Vandebroeck) [Brussels/Ghent] / Sound Performance / 20 min. / MNT (Center)

In the Catatonic State Society, all members live in a state of reduced consciousness. Saccading their heads on spastic pulses or just in plain inertia, they seem indifferent to perception. These rythmical units do interact however, they behave in surprising ways towards one another. They move in and out of sync, form complex superstructures to shift from texture to crystalline structures, rythmic pulses and back again.

[edit] Monochrome / RYbN [Paris] / Audiovisual Performance / 35 min. / MNT (Center)

RYbN is a multi-field artistic collective based in Paris, Berlin, Barcelona and specialized in the realization of installations, performances and interfaces by refering to the codified systems of artistic representation (painting, architecture, counter-cultures) as well as to human and physic phenomenas (geopolitics, socio-economy, sensory perception, cognitive systems). Their axe of research : the construction of a « semantics of convergence », via the coupling, diversion and perversion of writing and formalization tools connected to technologies of communication, information and the sensory – webs, data flows, scents, surveillance, audiovisual, interaction, real time. Their works had been shown in Paris, Helsinki, Berlin, Yogjakarta, San Francisco, Madrid, Montréal, Aberdeen and during new media dedicated festivals (Rencontres Paris-Berlin-Madrid, Pixelache, Peacock Visual Arts Center, Ars Electronica, Cellsbutton, Elektra, ISEA06, Transmediale, Nemo, Villette Numérique). http://youtube.com/monochromatiq
